Metropolitan Presents; Alan Silfen/Mercury NashvilleRumor has it the Las Vegas Strip is about to get even brighter. If all goes according to plan, the neon-lit tourist destination may be adding some big-name musical acts to its entertainment roster this spring.

The Las Vegas Sun reports that Diana Ross, Lionel Richie, Janet Jackson and Ricky Martin are all potentially signing on for mini-residencies on the Strip. Sources say the shows likely will take place at the Venetian, putting the four entertainers in direct competition with the star-studded lineup at the Colosseum in Caesars Palace.

Rod Stewart and Elton John are currently performing a series of concerts at the Colosseum, and Celine Dion reportedly will return to her residency in May.

Meanwhile, rumors are flying that Mariah Carey is in talks to be the Colosseum’s new headlining act, but that has yet to be confirmed.
