Credit: James O’MaraJoni Mitchell has been chosen as the face of the January 2015 installment of fashion house Yves Saint Laurent’s ongoing Music Project ad campaign. The 71-year-old folk-rock legend was photographed by Heidi Slimane at her home in Bel Air, California, and three black-and-white images from the shoot have been posted on the company’s Twitter feed.

The photos show Joni wearing a wide-brimmed fedora and a “folk tunic,” both from Yves Saint Laurent, as well as a leather cape that Slimane made for her. Mitchell also is strumming an acoustic guitar in two of the pics.

Additional images of Joni from the shoot can be seen in the latest issue of V Magazine.

Other music artists who have taken part in previous editions of the Saint Laurent Music Project include Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, B.B. King, Marianne Faithfull, Marilyn Manson and Courtney Love.
