01/22/2015 Munising High School, Munising, MI – The first broadcast of the Boys Munising Mustangs basketball team was brought to you by new announcer Mike James and GLR! We welcome him to the Great Lakes Radio family and look forward to the future! The Munising Mustangs took on the Engadine Eagles in Munising, MI on a seasonably warm January evening. The first quarter of play started as Ben Stasewich, playing for the Munising Mustangs, won the jump ball. Andy Cooper got tip and was able to score two points to open the game after a quick drive down the court. The Mustangs broke out early, with a 17-0 scoring run in the first quarter. Nick Cercone had multiple steals in the quarter, which allowed Munising its early lead.

Ben Stasewich won the toss again for your Munising Mustangs to open the second quarter of action. Alex Hill continued his excellent rebounding, allowing the Mustangs to continue their dominance of the first quarter. Nick Cercone also was able help the Mustangs by continuing to steal the ball wherever possible. Also assisting with rebounding, Alex Cooper had multiple rebounds in the second quarter. Garrett Blank contributed to the scoring, making a great layup off of a steal. The Engadine Eagles did their best to make a comeback, however, the Munising Mustangs defense was able to hold the Eagles to eight points in the second quarter. Both teams started the game with relatively few fouls, but the Engadine Eagles began to have problems as the second quarter ended.

The second half of play began with the Munising Mustangs only a few points away from a running clock. The Engadine Eagles fought valiantly though, never giving up and fighting to the end. They Eagles came out of the locker room with renewed vigor. Colin Immel got the tip-off, and the Mustangs quickly moved the ball up the court for a couple of early points. Your Munising Mustangs were struck with bad luck, with multiple shots bouncing in and then out of the hoop. Ben Stasewich made a great play off of a steal from Engadine when he was able to run the length of the court and finished the play by dunking the ball. Brett Johnson entered the game midway through the quarter, and he was able to intercept an Engadine pass to help the Mustangs to two more points. Michael Graves was fouled by an Engadine Eagle and made one of two free-throws, all after running the ball the length of the court before the foul.
Third Quarter Score:
Munising Mustangs: 58
Engadine Eagles: 13
Jason Lindbeck started the quarter for the Munising Mustangs fourth quarter by blocking a tough Engadine Eagles shot from the paint. Willy Seymour assisted the Mustangs by making several great passes, which allowed Munising multiple scoring attempts. Willy Seymour and Brett Johnson both had great fourth quarters, with both of them making three point shots in the quarter.
