Courtesy of VH1 Classic/Banger FilmsA new weekly VH1 Classic documentary series called Rock Icons premieres this Saturday at 10 p.m. ET/PT. Each half-hour episode will offer an in-depth portrait of a different well-known music star. Among the artists who will be profiled are Daryl Hall of Hall & Oates, Heart frontwoman Ann Wilson and the Motor City Madman himself, Ted Nugent.

Geddy Lee, the lead singer of Rush, will be the subject of the debut episode. Each show will boast exclusive interviews with the stars themselves and their musical associates, as well as previously unseen footage.

Other “rock icons” that will be featured on the series include Judas Priest‘s Rob Halford, Megadeth‘s Dave Mustaine, Mötley Crüe‘s Nikki Sixx, Slash, Def Leppard‘s Joe Elliott and The Smashing PumpkinsBilly Corgan.

The show is produced by Banger Films, the company behind such popular rock-themed documentaries as Metal: A Headbanger’s Journey, Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage and Super Duper Alice Cooper.
