Rumors had been circulating for a while that Sir Paul would be among the fest’s headliners, but his participation in the event wasn’t announced until today.

The specific date of McCartney’s performance hasn’t been revealed. The rock legend joins a lineup that includes fellow headliners Kings of Leon and The Killers, as well as such popular artists as Morrissey, Snoop Dogg, Foster the People, Modest Mouse, Bastille, Hozier, Sublime with Rome, Gary Clark Jr., Spoon, Cage the Elephant, and AWOLNATION, among many more.

The 2015 Firefly Music Festival will take place at the Woodlands, a wooded area on the grounds of the Dover International Speedway. Get ticket info at

McCartney’s appearance at the fest will follow his recently-announced spring tour of the Far East, which currently runs from an April 21 concert in Osaka, Japan, through a May 2 performance in Seoul, South Korea.
