Credit: Francois DuhamelThe upcoming Brian Wilson biopic, Love & Mercy, is slated to get its U.S. premiere on March 15 at the South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin, Texas, but you can get a first look at the movie now by checking out a new teaser trailer that’s debuted online. The clip shows glimpses of actors Paul Dano and John Cusack portraying the troubled Beach Boys mastermind at different periods in his life.

The video includes a montage of brief segments from the film set to the classic Beach Boys songs “Surfin’ U.S.A.,” “I Get Around” and “God Only Knows.” Among the events depicted in the trailer are an early concert by the band, a photo shoot for The Beach Boys’ debut album, Dano as Wilson working on the group’s influential Pet Sounds record, and Cusack as an older Brian interacting with his controversial therapist, Eugene Landy — portrayed by Paul Giamatti.

As previously reported, following the South by Southwest screening, Love & Mercy will get its U.S. theatrical premiere on June 5. Visit LoveandMercyFilm.com for more information.
