Authorities do not suspect foul play, according to California’s The Press Enterprise. Fraser was 62.

The London-born Fraser joined John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers as a teen before co-founding Free. Free scored a hit in 1970 with “All Right Now.” They disbanded two years later.

Fraser would write music for artists such as Joe Cocker and Rod Stewart. Rodgers went on to front Bad Company.

According to his website, Fraser battled a form of cancer called Kaposi’s sarcoma, as well as AIDS, during his life.
