Aviate RecordsWith Pat Benatar and her longtime guitarist and husband, Neil “Spyder” Giraldo, slated to launch a new U.S. tour today in Jackson, California, the rocking couple has announced official plans to release a new two-CD/DVD live collection later this month.

Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo: The 35th Anniversary Tour, which will be available on April 28, features performances of many of Benatar’s biggest hits and best-loved songs. Among the tunes included on the album and video are “You Better Run,” “Hit Me with Your Best Shot,” “Love Is a Battlefield,” “Heartbreaker,” “Shadows of the Night” and “Hell Is for Children.” The first single from the release is a version of “Promises in the Dark,” which is being sent to radio stations this week. Fans who pre-order the digital version of The 35th Anniversary Tour via iTunes will receive an immediate download of that track and a live rendition of “We Live for Love.”

“We are thrilled to be releasing this live version of ‘Promises in the Dark’ from our 35th Anniversary Concert Tour,” Benatar and Giraldo say in a joint statement. “‘Promises’ has special meaning for us. It was the first song we wrote together, about our own relationship. A little awkward at first, to be sure! It has become one of our signature compositions and a favorite to play live.”

Benatar and Giraldo currently have more than 30 concerts scheduled this year, with an itinerary that’s mapped out through an August 31 show in Monroe, Washington.
