NPG Records/Chelsea LaurenIn light of the unrest in Baltimore, Prince has recorded a new song that addresses the killings of young black men and social and political issues around the country.

According to Billboard, Prince’s song is a tribute to “all of the people of the city of Baltimore.” It was recorded this week at Prince’s Paisley Park studio in Minneapolis, but it’s unknown when it will be released.

The news comes after the death of Freddie Gray, a 25-year-old African-American who died of an apparent spinal injury while in police custody in Baltimore earlier this month, was ruled a homicide. Six officers have been charged with several counts, although charges differ for each individual. Among the charges brought in the case are second-degree depraved-heart murder, manslaughter and second-degree assault.
