Hiawatha National Forest
Announces 2009 Artist in Residence
Escanaba, MI –
Hiawatha National Forest is pleased to announce that artist Richard Abraham of St Paul, MN, has been selected as the Forest’s 2009 Artist in Residence. Abraham will spend his residency on Grand Island National Recreation Area located in Lake Superior about ½-mile offshore of Munising, MI.
Abraham’s two-week stay on the Hiawatha National Forest will include a presentation of his art at 7pm, Thursday August 20th, and a free workshop scheduled for Friday, August 21st.
Both events will be held in Munising, MI.
Individuals interested in attending the workshop should contact the US Forest
Service to sign up and to obtain a list of supplies that should be brought to the
workshop.
Abraham is a classically trained plein air painter who has won numerous awards for his landscape oil paintings.
