MUNISING, MICHIGAN 01/30/15- The Gwinn ModelTowners took on the Munising Mustangs in Munising’s Mustang nations’ gym. It was a tight game between the two teams. Munising was also having their homecoming this evening. Both teams played extremely well and had a nice hard game that was fun to watch.

The first quarter started off with the Munising Mustangs
taking the lead. It seemed like Munising was going to stay in the lead this quarter because Gwinn was taking a bit to make their scores. Gwinn wound up pulling through and tied the game for the end of this quarter. The score settled at 6-6 for a while. The second quarter started off with the Munising Mustangs again taking the lead and pulling ahead of the
ModelTowners. There were quite a few fouls this quarter but both teams got their points racked up. Jonah Norman of the Gwinn ModelTowners made an awesome 3-pointer in the last few seconds making the score 30-26 with the Munising Mustangs on top. It was homecoming for the Mustangs so that was a large incentive to win this game. The third quarter started off with the Gwinn ModelTowners getting the first points. Mika Heath of the Gwinn ModelTowners tied the score for a while in the beginning of this quarter making it 30-30. For a while the only team that was scoring was the Munising Mustangs but Gwinn started to make a come-back towards the middle of the quarter and made a few lay-ups to bring up their score. Alex Hill owned the floor for a part of this quarter, he is a player for the Munising Mustangs. The final score for this quarter was 41-34. The final quarter proved to be the most grueling. It was a hard and intense game between the two teams
that were very well disciplined. Munising was trying very hard, though, to keep their perfect record and it was also homecoming so there was a lot of reason to play extra hard tonight. Gwinn had a hard time trying to get the defense of the Munising Mustangs to break down for a while there. Both teams had some good defense. Justin Beauchamp had got his fifth foul this quarter and even though he played one heck of a game, he had to sit the rest of it out. Neither team refused to let up. The Mustangs wound up getting a fourteen point lead and winning the game with a score of 53-39. Good Job to both of the teams who played a remarkably entertaining game this night.
