Munising, MI – February 7, 2019 – What started out as a handful of people ice climbing together has turned into a large ice climbing community right here in our back yard.
The annual celebration of Michigan Ice Fest takes advantage of some of the county’s most outstanding ice climbing conditions and it’s right on our Lake Superior shoreline!
This festival makes ice climbing accessible to first timers, teaches advanced skills to veterans and brings people together, continuing to grow the community each year. There are climbing courses, slideshows open to the community and socials all focused on climbing our local winter wonderland
Events start Wednesday, February 13th and run through Sunday, February 17th. You’ll find everything from demos in Community Center to screenings of films like “Mountain of Storms” by Patagonia. To see a full schedule for 2019 Michigan Ice Fest, click here, or check out the photo below.
