Marquette, MI – July 2, 2019 – Great Lakes Radio, Inc. and Todd Noordyk of Marquette, MI have accepted a Letter of Intent to Purchase from Roam Media, Inc. of Munising, MI, operated by Tom Dolaskie, for the sale of radio stations WQXO AM/FM in Munising and 92.7 WRPP FM in Manistique. The purchase is contingent upon the necessary due diligence and financing for the final sale as well as the approval by the Federal Communications Commission.
The two groups have entered into a Time Brokerage Agreement that allows Roam Media, Inc. to assume day-to-day broadcast programming on the stations as of August 1st, 2019. Under the terms of the agreement, Roam Media, Inc. will establish programming production facilities for the stations in downtown Munising at the offices of Dolaskie’s company, Deployed Technologies.
As part of the transfer of operations, Roam Media, Inc. will be constructing new studios in downtown Munising with the intent to provide full-service local community broadcast services to Munising and the surrounding region. Dolaskie says about the acquisition; “Radio is woven into the very fabric of our small community. I’m confident that our highly experienced team will bring value through the platform to our residents and businesses. Our ability to manage the fusion of various digital media platforms alongside radio will be a strong service offering. We’re hopeful for strong community support as we move forward with this exciting business venture.”
Noordyk says about the acquisition; “I can think of no one better than Tom for these broadcast properties. His commitment to Munising and the Central UP is second to none. I am excited to watch Roam Media grow local business with these neighborhood stations added into his family of local businesses. Tom and his team will be a definite asset to serving the region.”
