The Munising Mustangs ended the night with another victory on the road–this time against rival Rapid River Rockets.
The first quarter saw big defensive plays in the opening by the Mustangs’ Logan Gould, Joe Kelley, Micaiah Peramaki, Blake Walther, Kane Nebel, and Jesse Matson, Josiah Peramaki, and Reagan Bowerman. On offense, the Mustangs had a strong opening with big plays from Nebel and Micaiah Peramaki, gaining a touchdown on the first drive out. Reagan Bowerman made a big tackle on special teams. Nebel made an interception. Nebel and Paramaki continued to be a great combination on the field. Cully Trzeciak picked up a two point conversion to bring the game to 14-0 Mustangs. Tyler Moore and Peramaki made big defensive plays to force a Rockets punt. Nebel made big plays in the following drive including a long run and a touchdown pass to Cully Trzeciak. The Nebel–Paramacki combo yielded another two-point conversion. Andrew Kane made a big tackle on special teams. Jamisen Ake made a deep interception on the first play of the Rokets’ following drive. Josiah Peramaki made a long run for another Mustangs touchdown and also ran in the two point conversion, bringing the game to 30-0 Mustangs. Ashton Wymer made a big tackle to end the first quarter.
In the second quarter, the Rockets took possession and Micaiah Peramaki grabbed a sack and then shut down a screen. Mustangs got the ball back and Nebel passed to Josiah Peramaki for a 33-yard touchdown, Peramaki’s third of the game. Nebel handed the all to Macaiah Peramaki for two points. Mustangs were dominating at this point, 38-0. The Rockets tried again but Kane Nebel made an interception. Big runs from Nebel and Josiah Peramaki resulted in another touchdown. Cully Trzeciak took the last score of the game to bring the game to Mustangs 46, Rockets 0.
In the third quarter, Nelson came out as QB and the Mustangs ran the ball and the clock.
In the fourth quarter, we saw more of the same. Finally Ashton Wymer came in as quarter back and took a knee to end the game.
