Munising Mustangs vs Cedarville Islanders
–game summary–
1st quarter
The Mustangs shake the cold and the rain to face off against the Trojans. On the coin toss Cedarville Receives first.
Mustangs defense power through as the rain and cold cause havoc at home, pushing them to an early lead in the 1st quarter 16–0, as the Mustangs take full advantage of Cedarville’s home territory. Cedarville feeling the pressure from Reagan Bowerman and the Mustang defense struggle to recover from 2 fumbles.
2nd quarter
Mustangs Begin the quarter with the ball. Kane Nebel with the support of Micaiah, and Josiah Peramaki, push their way past the Islanders defense bit by bit, yard by yard, making the first touchdown of the quarter.
The islanders take the Mustangs by surprise as they push down the field, but faced with the might of Reagan Bowerman, and the speed of Jamisen Ake, the Mustangs continue to force turnover after turnover. Cully Treciak finds his groove as the open man with a 75 yard touchdown bringing the score 28-0
Reagan Bowerman brings in a fumble recovery, making way for Josiah Peramaki to gallop into another touchdown for the Mustangs.
Mustangs keep the quarter exciting recovering another fumble with less then 2 min left on the clock. Micaiah Peramaki takes advantage of the time given him to make another Embers Credit Union touchdown,
With 28seconds left in the quarter Kane Nebel makes a beautiful interception, and brings another touchdown into the hands of Josiah Peramaki with a 40 yard run as the Mustangs begin to trample over the Islanders
3rd quarter
The Islanders and the Mustangs fight back and forth, neither team wanting to concede space to the other. Neither team able to score any points, but the islanders take the quarter content to stop the rampage of the Mustangs for the time being.
4th quarter
The Mustangs maintain their lead through the quarter as the teams continue to test themselves for games to come. Neither team are able to add to the board but Kane Nebel and Josiah Peramaki mark their records with over 1000 yards to their name as the game comes to its end.
As the clock ticks the final away Joe Kelley and Cully Trzeciak are considered for their impact in the first half of the game for player of the game for the first half and Carson Kienitz, and Zach linguist take player of the game for the 2nd half of another exciting Mustang game as Munising continues to hold onto their undefeated title.
