Mustangs Beat Jets 54-49 In Nail-biting Thriller!!!
Munising Varsity Basketball narrowly put away North Central at the end of the fourth quarter.
The Mustangs opened strong with a hot-handed performance from Kane Nebel. It was 14-8 Mustangs at the end of the first quarter of play.
The Mustangs continued to dominate in the second quarter, coming to the half at 28-20 Mustangs. Kane Nebel landed a buzzer-beater basket at the horn. Nebel opened with 18 points in the first half, landing 100% of three-point attempts.
The Mustangs expanded their lead in the third quarter, bringing the score to 48-28 at the end of the third quarter.
In the fourth quarter, North Central staged a comeback and brought the Jets within 6 with three minutes left in the game. With 1:23 left in the game, the scoreboard read 48-46, Mustangs up by a basket. In the final minute, two Jets fouled out and Mustangs cashed in at the free-throw line.
The Mustangs closed the game with a 54-49 win.
