munisingNEWBERRY, MI – 1/21/14 – The Lady Mustangs fell on Tuesday in Newberry 42-37.  This comes the day after the Lady Mustangs joined the top-5 of class D teams in the Upper Peninsula.  Three of the Mustangs’ key players (Marissa Immel, Frankie Mattson and Bailey Downs) spent much of the game in foul trouble and weren’t able to contribute in their usual productive ways.  Frankie Mattson did manage to post a double-double (13 points, 11 rebounds) en route to being the point leader for the Mustangs.  Mattson’s 13, along with Immel’s 10, wasn’t for the Lady Mustangs though as the Indians preyed upon the Mustangs’ second-string back-court with a devastating full-court-press.  Taylor Bryant led the way for the Indians putting up 16 points and covering the Mustangs’ best player whenever needed to fantastic results.

The Mustangs next broadcasted game will be this upcoming Thursday as the Lady Mustangs head to Carney-Nadeau for a date with the Wolves.  Be sure to join Charlie Nebel for the pregame at 7:30pm and tip-off is at 8:00!  Go Mustangs!
