Classes are held in the Home Ec. Room at Superior Central School in Eben. Registration required. Please contact Abbey at (906) 225-0671 X 25 for registration or more information. Please pay at the door. Classes cost $10 per person or $15 for you and a friend.
Planning a Three-Season Garden
Friday – 2/15 – 6 pm – Hoop House Workshop
Want to get more out of your garden this year? Learn how your garden can produce a wide variety of vegetables throughout the growing season with succession planting. This class is all about planning a garden to fit your family’s needs, and includes ideas for gardening with kids, information about starting your own seeds, and a tour of the Superior Central hoop house.
Cooking Together
Friday – 3/15 – 6 pm – Cooking Class
Learn healthy recipes for meals and snacks that make it fun to share the kitchen. Kids of all ages and the people who are important to them – parents, grandparents, and friends – can come and make food together using produce from the Superior Central hoop house.
Great Spring Greens
Friday – 4/12 – 6 pm – Hoop House Workshop
Fresh lettuce from the garden makes the best salads – and saves money! Learn about different varieties of greens, how to grow them, which ones will do best in your garden, and how to extend the growing season so you can have your own fresh greens almost year-round!
Five Salads
Friday – 5/17 – 6 pm – Cooking Class
A salad can be the most interesting part of a meal – even a meal in itself! In this class, learn how to make delicious salads with greens from the Superior Central hoop house. In addition to five nutritious and inexpensive new salads, you’ll also make your own dressing from scratch.
