MUNISING, MI – 11/4/2014 – It wasn’t much of a competition for the Mustangs last Friday night, but they did advance to the second round of the playoffs once again. The Mustangs’ district has played out how it was supposed to (on paper) so far. The #2 seeded Mustangs dispatched the 7-2 Bulldogs with ease, and the #1 seeded LaSalle Saints did the same to Newberry. This sets up a match-up between two teams with a combined record of 19-1 through 20 games this season, and both teams have combined for 19 straight wins. This is truly going to be a great football game in St. Ignace this Saturday afternoon.
For the Mustangs, they’ll need quarterback Austin Kelto to play to his all-star level. Kelto has been the rock for the Mustangs all season long and will look to continue his exceptional play in St. Ignace. Along with Kelto, look for Garrett Blank to continue his consistent dominance he’s had all season long. The two are the ones who get all of the headlines in Mustang football, but the offensive & defensive lines have really been the lifeblood of the team. A defense that held the Bulldogs to zero points, and caused three fumbles in the first quarter alone of that contest.
Be sure to catch all of the Mustang action right here with us and Charlie Nebel on AM1400 WQXO. Pregame will begin at 12:30pm with a 1pm kickoff this Saturday afternoon! The Mustangs are on a mission, join us for all of the exciting action. Go MUSTANGS!
